Black Friday is right around the corner and all the retailers have started early to make the most of it. If you are like me and will browse around at the deals and maybe buy a few items, but wait for the big event in hopes prices will drop even lower well maybe we’re just old fashioned. Now’s the time to get ready for the big day. It is one of the biggest shopping day of the year, but don’t always fall for all the hype. Yes its a great day to get some great deals, but if history has proven anything the discounts drop closer to Christmas. We will just have to wait and see. No worries there are plenty of HOT DEALS you can find on Black Friday. You just need some tips to make the most of the day.
Preperation: This is something every deal hunter needs to do. Heading into Black Friday blind is a big no no and only rookies do it. Start researching online, check you mailbox and pick up the newspapers. Online you will find Black Friday deal leaks, you will find catalogs like retailers like Target in you mailbox, and flyers in the newspaper with upcoming black Friday deals.
Shop Online: Skip the long lines and anxiety. Relax and enjoy the Holiday with your family. Grab your phone or jump on the computer and shop online. That seems to be the trend these days. A lot of the little Doorbusters like Kohls fleece blankets are usually available online. So there is no need to run to stand on line for the store to open.
Make a List: Have a list ready! It could be a list of people you have to buy for, your kids wish list for Santa or just a list of deals you want to get as gifts or treating yourself. I am willing to admit that I am a bit OCD when it comes to lists, but if you only need a list of people to buy for thats fine. It will help because you can check off as you go. Saving yourself the hassle of running out on Christmas Eve because you need to buy something for Aunt Sophia.
Budget: Creating a budget is key to saving money and making sure you don’t overspend. This goes back to preparation and making a list to keep you from impulse buying.
Pay Cash (maybe): OK, so you are probably thinking why the “maybe”. It is the best to keep from over spend, but I am a all about getting as much money as possible. So what I do is use a credit card that has cash backs rewards. The trick is to pay with the credit card that has cash back rewards and then immediately pay the credit card bill. That way you get a little something extra for all your hard work.
Cashback: I can not stress to you how important it is to sign up for cashback programs like Rakuten (formerly known as Ebates), Top Cashback, Lemoney, or Swagbucks. This will help with saving money on top of the deals.
Comparison: Black Friday is the one day that retailers DO NOT price match. So you will have to get savvy. No worries they have an app for that. Well they have an app for everything these days. Download Shopsavvy you can scan or search items to find the best price for what you want.
